About The Position

The Rescue Snowmobiler is an on-call member of a snowmobile rescue team responding to lost or injured guests who are outside the ski area boundary and not easily accessible. The role requires extensive knowledge of Schweitzer’s backcountry and side country, excellent snowmobile operating skills, and coordination with Schweitzer Patrol. Employees must own and operate their own snowmobile and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and load, unload, and operate snowmobiles in varied conditions. This is an occasional seasonal position for the 2026–2027 winter season and is open only to returning employees.

Requirements

• Must be a returning employee.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer’s backcountry and side country.
• Must have excellent snowmobile operating skills.
• Must own and operate their own snowmobile.
• Must be able to remain outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to load, unload, and operate snowmobiles in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Respond on call to rescue lost or injured guests outside the ski area boundary who are not easily accessible.
• Coordinate rescues with Schweitzer Patrol.
• Load, unload, and operate a snowmobile in various conditions.
