About The Position

The Budget Analyst develops, monitors, and maintains departmental and project budgets, applying quality management practices to maintain accurate and accountable financial data. The role leads budget development, execution, and monitoring across departments, owns financial controls, and mentors junior analysts.

This full-time position is on-site at 600 19th Street NW, Washington, DC. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen and maintain an active SECRET security clearance. A bachelor's degree or 11 years of equivalent experience is required.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Maintain an active SECRET-level security clearance.
• Minimum of 7 years of budget or financial analysis experience.
• Experience mentoring analysts and briefing senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree or 11 years of equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Federal budget formulation and execution experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of budgets across departments, aligned with organizational objectives.
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems to maintain financial accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis and forecasting to support decision-making.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management on performance, key metrics, and budget variances.
• Identify financial risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain strong financial controls.
• Mentor junior budget analysts.
• Partner with department leaders, project managers, and stakeholders to gather data and align budgets with operations.
