About The Position

As a Brokerage Carrier Sales Representative at Venture Connect, you will oversee in-transit shipments and work directly with carriers to move customer freight as economically and efficiently as possible. The role suits energetic, proactive problem solvers who can work in a fast-paced environment. You will tender and optimize shipments, monitor shipment progress, communicate updates, and maintain carrier relationships. You will also support load maintenance and operational coverage, coordinate with other departments, and comply with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
General computer skills, including typing, emailing, and faxing.
Ability to answer phones.
Ability to stay focused in a busy, loud environment.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.

Responsibilities

Tender shipments to optimize and consolidate loads, meet customer demands, and maximize efficiency and profit.
Track and trace shipment progress and update customers on load status.
Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing carriers.
Negotiate carrier rates and assign drivers to loads to ensure scheduled pickups.
Follow up and communicate shipment status to meet on-time delivery requirements.
Proactively communicate issues and updates to account representatives and sales representatives.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Exercise decision-making abilities.
Post freight on websites when needed to increase visibility to carriers.
Fill in on other boards and assist with operations duties when needed for coverage or volume needs.
Work with other departments to resolve pending load issues and close loads that have delivered.
Contact applicable parties to collect load-related paperwork, including assisting Billing, CSR, and Sales Representatives with carrier-related calls.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Comply with company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
