About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a full-time Breakfast Server to join their team at the Best Western Plus Airport Hotel. This role involves providing high-quality customer service during breakfast and lunch services. The server will be responsible for preparing the restaurant, greeting and serving guests, managing inventory, resolving guest complaints, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas. The position requires knowledge of menu items, suggestive selling techniques, and processing payments accurately.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a server in a restaurant.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize and follow-up.
  • Must be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Must be able to follow directions thoroughly.
  • Must be able to understand a guest’s service needs.
  • Must be able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent data.
  • Excellent knowledge of all menus, specials and vouchers.
  • Must have up to date Smart Choices certification.
  • Knowledge of POS and tablets essential.
  • Prepares own cash out.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Opens and prepares the restaurant for hotel guests for breakfast and lunch.
  • Greets, seats and serves breakfast and lunch.
  • Takes inventory, orders supplies and maintains stock for FOH.
  • Resolves guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction, and seeking management assistance when necessary.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of breakfast and lunch menu items.
  • Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, and organization of assigned work areas for FOH and BOH.
  • Completes opening and closing side duties as assigned.
  • Sets up proper mise for restaurant and workstations, ensuring a sufficient supply of all china, glassware and flatware for service.
  • Checks cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas, rectifying any deficiencies.
  • Takes guests' food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Presents guest checks and processes payments, adhering to payment, cash handling, and credit policies/procedures.
  • Complies with all unit policies.
