Food Service - Breakfast Host
About The Position
The Breakfast Host provides a warm, hospitable guest experience and helps maintain cleanliness, adequate stock, and efficient food and beverage service. The role prepares food and beverages according to manufacturer instructions, monitors food and beverage safety and quality, and maintains the cleanliness and condition of hotel public spaces, including the lobby, meeting rooms, and business center. The Breakfast Host also supports meeting-room food and beverage service, trains hosts, assists hotel management with routine and project-oriented tasks, and helps improve departmental cleanliness, attitude, and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to communicate with guests in a friendly manner and create a warm, comfortable, relaxing environment.
- Ability to walk and stand throughout the entire working period.
- Ability to intermittently lift 15–25 pounds during the work shift.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with the public or in food service is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide guests with a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
- Keep public spaces clean, including the lobby, meeting rooms, and business center.
- Maintain appropriate stock of food items.
- Train new and existing hosts.
- Regularly inspect food and beverages for safety and optimal taste.
- Perform minor maintenance and report larger issues to the maintenance department.
- Follow applicable brand standards for food and beverage service and common areas.
- Prepare food and beverages for guests according to manufacturer instructions.
- Assist the Assistant General Manager, staff, and General Manager with routine and project-oriented tasks.
- Lead ongoing improvements in departmental cleanliness, attitude, and efficiency.
- Share ideas with management.
- Communicate customer issues, complaints, and special requests professionally, and provide assistance when needed.
- Assist in other hotel areas as directed by the General Manager.
- Complete deep-cleaning tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
- Assist with food and beverage service in meeting rooms as directed.
