Brand Insights, Measurement Lead

Anthropic•San Francisco, CA
•$255,000 - $320,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Anthropic is seeking a Brand Insights, Measurement Lead to strengthen the evidence behind brand decisions and help determine whether marketing spend and effort are working. Marketing Insights turns market, campaign, and user data into decisions that product, marketing, communications, and sales leaders can act on. The role will assess how awareness progresses to consideration and pipeline, and identify where that progression breaks down for particular audiences. It combines customer understanding, marketing measurement discipline, and organizational influence. The Lead will own recurring measurement readouts, including Prosumer and B2B brand-health tracker studies, and keep the metrics presented to business leadership and in all-hands updates accurate, current, and actionable. The role partners with Marketing Insights, Communications, data science, Brand & Integrated Marketing leadership, research vendors, and stakeholders across Enterprise Marketing, product marketing, and finance. The position requires synthesizing first-party behavioral data, campaign and media data, and survey or attitudinal research into a defensible view while explaining the limitations of each source. The Lead will present findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences, including marketing leadership, enterprise sales, and finance partners. The position is hybrid under Anthropic’s current policy: staff are expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more.

Requirements

  • A field of study relevant to the role, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
  • Experience requirements correlate with the internal job level; no specific minimum number of years is stated.
  • Fluency in SQL and Python or R, with the ability to perform exploratory analysis as well as rigorous statistical modeling.
  • Experience designing or analyzing experiments, such as A/B tests, holdouts, or lift tests, to establish causal effects rather than rely on correlation.
  • Experience applying regression, segmentation, or other causal-inference methods to a real business question.
  • Experience measuring campaigns end to end, from pre/post analysis of an individual campaign to synthesizing learnings across campaigns into actionable changes.
  • Experience building and maintaining recurring metrics reports or dashboards that executives or cross-functional partners rely on.
  • Ability to translate qualified findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders and identify which caveats need to be communicated.
  • Ability to start analysis by clarifying the business question and decision it must support.
  • Ability to reconcile data without a universal taxonomy across first-party, third-party, real-time, and survey sources.
  • Ability to balance timely directional answers with more rigorous analysis when appropriate.
  • Ability to work across functions and build credibility with technical partners and non-technical leadership.
  • Interest in Anthropic’s mission to develop AI that is safe and beneficial.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, or incrementality and lift testing.
  • Experience advising marketing stakeholders on experimental design for live campaigns, such as email or paid social, or measuring marketing performance across multiple markets.
  • Familiarity with survey-based quantitative research, including MaxDiff, conjoint, brand tracking, and sentiment tracking, alongside behavioral and usage data.
  • Experience with a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery and a BI tool such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Prior experience in marketing, growth, or brand analytics rather than general-purpose data science or product analytics.
  • A graduate degree in statistics, economics, or another quantitative field.
  • A career trajectory spanning BI and dashboarding, applied causal inference and experimental design, and multi-market marketing measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Own recurring executive and all-hands readouts that present key metrics, headwinds, and tailwinds to marketing management and the broader team.
  • Lead process ownership of the Prosumer and B2B brand-health tracker studies, including management of the research vendors that field them.
  • Coordinate Communications, Marketing, and data science partners on the brand-health dashboard and align them on a consistent view of the data.
  • Support media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, and incrementality analyses to inform marketing budget and effort allocation and distinguish causal drivers from correlation.
  • Run pre- and post-campaign analyses covering creative, channel, audience, and timing effects, and turn findings into specific improvements for future campaigns.
  • Synthesize campaign-level learnings into recurring leadership reporting on channel, creative, and audience performance and recommended playbook adjustments.
  • Build audience and funnel analyses that quantify how audiences move from awareness through consideration to conversion and inform investment decisions.
  • Audit how customer sentiment is reported across the business and design a more efficient, consistent process.
  • Manage underlying data pipelines so recurring readouts remain reliable and do not need to be rebuilt each cycle.
  • Partner with Marketing Insights teammates to align measurement processes and research design, including contributing to the Marketing Business Review scorecard process.
  • Combine first-party behavioral, campaign and media, and survey or attitudinal data into a defensible view while clarifying the limits of each source.
  • Present findings to non-technical audiences, including marketing leadership, enterprise sales, and finance partners, and translate qualified results into clear recommendations.
