The Branch Manager directs the operations of a medium-sized credit union facility, usually with one to four people, and ensures the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans. The role has limited lending authority and coaches staff in sales performance to achieve corporate goals. The manager is responsible for business development and branch goals through relationships with members, sponsor organizations, suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups. Business development includes visiting local businesses to raise awareness of the credit union, build relationships, and gain new members, as well as planning and attending functions and events. The role requires attending in-person sales and service training at the Corporate Training Office in Tampa. The manager monitors branch results against objectives, takes steps to correct unsatisfactory conditions, controls past-due and charged-off accounts, and underwrites consumer loans up to the limit assigned under credit union policy. The manager monitors branch activities for compliance with credit union policies and procedures, oversees required currency transaction reporting, and alerts the compliance officer to suspicious conduct or transactions. The manager also directs and develops branch personnel, coaches and motivates staff, and hires, disciplines, evaluates, and recommends personnel actions. The position reinforces the credit union's sales and service culture and develops employees' skills in cross-selling products and services. Employees receive continuing training on their responsibilities under BSA/CIP/OFAC regulations and are expected to follow internal policies and procedures.
