About The Position

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading branch staff activity, supporting and fostering staff growth, branch partnership development, deposit growth, and lending. This role is responsible for reaching personal and branch goals, providing efficient branch operations, and ensuring branch profitability. Duties must be accomplished in compliance with federal and state laws and in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures, with constant attention to Alero’s creed, vision, mission and goals.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration or related field and three to five years of experience in financial institutions; or 7 to 10 years’ experience in credit union management or closely related field with equal responsibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel is required -approximately 25% of the time, some evenings and weekends required.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of staff by assigning work, training, scheduling, solving problems, answering questions and assisting with complex transactions.
  • Evaluate the work of employees within the branch and is responsible for recommending promotions, reassignments and hiring of new employees.
  • Oversee the branch sales culture and lead a team of growth minded teammates to grow loan and deposit dollars annually.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings/training to review concerns, exchange ideas, or communicate changes in policy or procedures.
  • Conduct frequent on the spot coaching and scheduled individual goal review.
  • Responsible for achieving corporate and branch goals and objectives while maintaining branch standards.
  • Support and develop relationships that grow loan and deposit dollars while exhibiting excellent service standards.
  • Seek out engaging community, volunteer and business opportunities with the Partnership Development team.
  • Develop and give engaging presentations and educational workshops to community partnership audiences.
  • Assist Partnership Development Officer and Marketing in seeking enriching relationships with the branch community and their engaged partner companies.
  • Engage in community events with area business partners within branch budget.
  • Be a sales minded brand ambassador in a community activities to attract new loan and deposit relationships.
  • Engage with members in a positive and educational manner to resolve conflict, explain internal guidelines and reach a fair decision regarding experience outcomes for members.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and procedural expertise to assist staff with technical problems.
  • Manage branch cash within assigned currency limits. Order and verify cash received under dual control and maintain inventory of negotiable instruments.
  • Ensure all branch staff, vault and ATM are in balance each day. Assist in resolving discrepancies and verify that all monies are secured in line with established procedures.
  • Ensure the branch security system is in good working order and update the staff concerning security procedures and policies, including maintaining proper levels of working cash and cash reserve.
  • Ensure that all accounts are opened in accordance with established policies and procedures, proper records are maintained, and accounts are entered on the credit union’s computer system properly.
  • Ensure completion of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform audits of loan paperwork, new accounts, cash and other negotiable items.
  • Oversee activity in the branch to ensure the processing of member loan requests are within appropriate timeframe as stated within the branch standards.
  • Evaluate and approve member loan requests in accordance with Alero’s policies/procedures.
  • Establish repayment schedules, interest rates, etc.; ensure that all loans are processed in compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and credit union policies, to include perfecting liens/security interests when applicable.
  • Prepare and complete loan documentation upon approval.
  • Disburse loan proceeds as authorized and directed by appropriate loan level officers.
  • Notify members whose loan requests have been denied and provide required documents to applicants within established time guidelines. May assist applicants in exploring other means of meeting financial obligations.
  • Responsible for the audit of all loan paperwork and maintenance of weekly and monthly statistics of loan approvals and rejections.
  • Receive and respond to member inquiries in a timely manner, adhering to guidelines as stated in branch standards.
  • Assist Vice Presidents of Branch Operations with projects or training programs necessary to educate staff in new or updated procedures and/or policies.
  • Assist Senior Management in determining and projecting annual goals and objectives.
  • Assist in expediting Alero’s Disaster Recovery plan as needed.
  • Leader of a service minded sales culture that grows the organization organically.
  • All other duties as assigned.
