Book Scanner - Rock Hill - Part-time
About The Position
The Book Scanner processes donated books and other media to determine whether items should be sold online or in the store. The role scans ISBN barcodes using the Neatoscan service, sorts and merchandises items, removes damaged items from sale, and maintains a clean, organized, SOP-compliant work area. The position starts at $15.00 per hour, with annual merit increases and production bonuses. Team members can access career development and skill training classes at no cost and receive a team member discount. Medical, dental, and vision insurance and paid time off are available to full-time team members.
Requirements
- No prior experience or training is required.

Responsibilities
- Remove books, CDs, and DVDs from bins.
- Scan ISBN barcodes using the Neatoscan service to determine whether items are accepted for online sale or should be sold in the retail store.
- Place damaged items that cannot be sold online or in the retail store in the trash.
- Keep the work station clean, organized, and compliant with standard operating procedures.
- Keep books, CDs, and DVDs on the sales floor sorted and merchandised by category.
- Rotate and pull older books, CDs, and DVDs from the sales floor and place them in the Return Gaylord.
- Maintain and clean the work area in accordance with standard operating procedure guidelines.
- Report known or suspected security or theft problems to the Store Manager or other members of management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
