About The Position

The Book Scanner processes donated books and other media to determine whether they should be sold online or in the store. The role scans ISBN barcodes using the Neatoscan service, sorts and merchandises items, rotates older inventory, and maintains a clean, organized work area in accordance with standard operating procedures. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and may include other duties assigned by store management. The position starts at $15.00, with annual merit increases and production bonuses. Team members are eligible for career development and skill training classes at no cost, as well as a team member discount. Requirements

No prior experience or training is required.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Remove books, CDs, and DVDs from bins and scan ISBN barcodes using the Neatoscan service to determine whether items are accepted for online sale or should be sold in the retail store.
Discard damaged items that cannot be sold online or in the retail store.
Keep the station clean, organized, and compliant with standard operating procedures.
Sort and merchandise books, CDs, and DVDs on the sales floor by category.
Rotate and remove older books, CDs, and DVDs from the sales floor and place them in the Return Gaylord.
Maintain and clean the work area while following standard operating procedure guidelines.
Report known or suspected security or theft problems to the Store Manager or other management members.
Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
