About The Position

Martin Automotive Group is hiring a Body Shop Manager for its Dayton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram location. The manager oversees body shop operations, employees, budgets, customer and insurance-adjuster relationships, repair estimates, quality checks, billing, and paint inventory. The role also includes complying with applicable regulations and company policies, developing employee training, and completing other assigned duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three or more years of automotive industry experience, specifically in body shop and repairs.
One year of experience in a supervisory position.
Great communication skills.
Great writing skills.
Ability to manage others.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Establish department forecast goals and objectives and develop plans to meet them.
Coordinate and administer the body shop’s annual operating budget.
Direct and schedule all body shop employee activities.
Comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, and emissions requirements.
Develop and implement employee training programs in accordance with industry standards.
Provide technical assistance to body shop employees when needed.
Conduct meetings with body shop employees.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with insurance adjusters.
Build positive customer relationships to encourage repeat and referral business.
Provide fair estimates and explain repair costs and timelines to customers.
Follow up with customers on unsold repair estimates.
Perform quality checks on completed body shop repairs.
Maintain repair records and files by customer name, including repair orders and estimates.
Account for all repair orders and ensure they are completed.
Prepare final billing for completed repair orders.
Establish and maintain procedures for managing paint inventory.
Keep repair rates competitive with the prevailing market area.
Follow the Personnel Policy Manual and other corporate policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
