About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Board Engagement, the Board Engagement Associate supports and enhances Weill Cornell Medicine’s (WCM) board engagement activities. This role focuses on strengthening the engagement, philanthropic involvement, and stewardship of Board members, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality experience for these key institutional stakeholders. The Associate will help streamline processes, coordinate communications, and maintain the systems and structures that enable effective Board relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in development, higher education, or nonprofit administration.
  • Strong organizational and project‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, think strategically, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort working with CRM or database systems.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and judgment when working with confidential or sensitive information.
  • Maintains a team-oriented approach and possesses the ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, execution, and follow‑up of WCM Board of Fellows meetings and events, and ensure seamless logistics, in coordination with the Office of the Secretary as needed.
  • Manage the admin and operational processes that support Board engagement, including scheduling, document preparation, and tracking of action items.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of Board materials, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with institutional messaging and branding.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across depts to gather content, prepare briefings, and support Board members’ involvement in institutional initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between EA’s Development Office and institutional partners to ensure alignment and timely flow of information related to Board activities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Board members interests, involvement history, philanthropic activity, and institutional priorities to support personalized engagement strategies, working closely with PRISM and individual giving officers staff.
  • Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date Board records in collaboration with gift officers & prospect research staff by communicating updates related to demographic/biographic/contact info, roles and committee memberships, mentor assignments, relationships, etc.
  • Assist PRISM team in developing and implementing stewardship plans that recognize and deepen Board members’ philanthropic commitments.
  • Partner with Dir of Board Engagement and PRISM team to prepare reports/presentations/dashboards that track Board engagement metrics and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate on special projects related to development, governance, and campaign priorities.
  • Help ensure that Board engagement efforts are integrated with broader campaign and development strategies.
  • Monitor timelines and deliverables to ensure that engagement activities are executed with precision and professionalism.
  • Contribute to the refinement and implementation of systems, workflows, and tools that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Board engagement.
