Miller’s Health Systems provides free training for people interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. The program includes 36–40 hours of classroom instruction and 75 hours of supervised clinical practicum in a long-term care facility. Students must pass classroom tests with a score of at least 80% and successfully demonstrate all required clinical skills. Upon completion, students must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse’s Aide. Students must pass a criminal background check and complete a TB test and physical before the course begins. Attendance at all classroom sessions is mandatory, and unsatisfactory performance or attendance may result in dismissal. Students who successfully complete the course receive a certificate of completion and a scheduled test date. Miller’s Merry Manor pays for the scheduled exam, and one retake, if the student is hired and remains in good standing as an employee. Students who are not employees must arrange and pay for their own exam.
