Free CNA Training Class
About The Position
Creekside Village is offering a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program. The program is open to people with no previous experience who are committed to providing compassionate care to residents. Training lasts two weeks and includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Participants receive support from ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants can apply for a CNA position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana communities and may pursue additional nursing career opportunities.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the two-week Nurse Aide Training Program, consisting of 30 classroom hours and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, brushing teeth, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and other observations.
- Answer resident call lights and help fulfill requests.
- Provide residents with companionship and build meaningful relationships while delivering care.
