About The Position

Clinton Gardens offers free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program. No previous experience is required, but participants must be committed to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training, and can prepare participants to become a CNA in a few weeks. Training takes place over two weeks and includes 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of clinical training. ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs provide support throughout the program. After completing the training and testing, participants may apply for positions at ASC communities across Indiana. Further nursing career pathways and opportunities are available.

Requirements

No previous experience is required.

Complete the two-week nurse aide training program, including 30 classroom hours and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
Obtain and record resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and document observations.
Answer patient call lights and help fulfill residents’ requests.
Build meaningful relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
