Free CNA Training Class
About The Position
Creekside Village provides free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program. The program is open to people with no previous experience who are committed to providing compassionate care to residents. It includes free classroom and hands-on training and takes place over two weeks, with 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of clinical training. Participants receive support from ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants can apply for a position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana-based communities, with further pathways available for those interested in advancing a nursing career.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the two-week training program, including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record residents’ vital signs and observations.
- Answer resident call lights and assist with requests.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
