About The Position

Willowdale Village offers a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program for people who want to build a career providing compassionate care to residents. No prior experience is required, but participants must commit to providing compassionate care. The program includes free classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training and prepares participants to complete CNA testing. Training lasts two weeks and consists of 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs who have followed the same path. After completing the program and testing, participants can apply for positions at American Senior Communities locations across Indiana. Additional nursing career pathways and advancement opportunities are available.

Requirements

No previous experience is required.
Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
Complete the two-week training program, including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, brushing teeth, and shaving.
Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
Reposition and transfer residents, including between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
Obtain and record resident vital signs and observations.
Answer patient call lights and help fulfill residents’ requests.
Build meaningful relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
