Free CNA Training Class
About The Position
North Park offers a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program for people who are committed to providing compassionate care to residents. No previous experience is required. The program includes two weeks of training: 30 hours of classroom instruction and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Participants receive support from ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, trainees can apply for positions at one of American Senior Communities’ 100 locations across Indiana. Further nursing-career pathways and opportunities are available.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the two-week nurse aide training program, including 30 classroom hours and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents, such as between a bed and wheelchair or a wheelchair and toilet.
- Obtain and record resident observations and vital signs, including heart rate and blood pressure.
- Answer patient call lights and help fulfill requests.
- Build relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
