About The Position

Miller's is proud to provide training for those interested in a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant free of charge. Each student is required to complete classroom training and clinical training. Upon completion, students must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. This program is designed to prepare individuals for a career in compassionate care, with opportunities for professional growth within a 100% employee-owned company.

Requirements

• Must pass classroom tests with 80% or higher.
• Must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Must pass a physical examination.
• Mandatory attendance to all classroom sessions.
• Successful completion of the program requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Students may be assigned to work with a preceptor for assistance in organization and time management.
• If hired and in good standing as an employee, Miller's Merry Manor will pay for the scheduled state test.
• If not an employee, the student will receive their application and certificate of completion to schedule their own test at their own expense.

Responsibilities

• Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work.
• Pass all classroom tests with a score of 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed per test).
• Complete 75 hours of supervised clinical practicum in a long-term care facility.
• Perform all required skills successfully during the practicum.
• Attend the first 16 hours of practicum with the class instructor (absence will result in program dismissal).
• Demonstrate and get signed off on all required skills checklists (RCPs) during clinicals.
• Submit completed RCPs at the end of clinicals.
• Complete a daily "clinical sign-in record" including date, actual hours worked, student signature, and signature of a licensed supervisor.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Pass a TB test.
• Pass a physical examination prior to starting the course.
• Attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
• Meet program requirements set by the Indiana State Department of Health.
• Adhere to the facility's dress code requirements.
