About The Position

The Bistro Server serves food and beverages to guests courteously and in accordance with established brand and hotel guest-service and sustainability standards. The role involves preparing and maintaining the service area, taking and processing orders and payments, communicating guest dietary needs to the kitchen, and assisting with food and beverage preparation and other service functions as needed. The server also completes end-of-shift cash procedures, maintains clean equipment and work areas, follows alcohol-service and workplace-safety requirements, and supports overall guest satisfaction. The work schedule varies and may include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts. The position requires extended periods of standing and walking, as well as pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching.

Requirements

Previous food and beverage experience or equivalent training is required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up supplies, food, and beverages at the beginning of the shift and keep the work area stocked.
Take customer orders, enter orders, collect payment, and provide change.
Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
Prepare food, coffee, and other beverages, including alcohol, when necessary.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food, when necessary.
Perform other food and beverage functions, such as bartending and bussing, during staffing shortages or peak periods.
Count the bank at the end of the shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure the bank according to established policies.
Clean equipment and work areas and lock equipment doors as applicable.
Follow state, federal, and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
