About The Position

Serve food and/or beverages to guests in a courteous and friendly manner, following established brand and hotel guest-service and sustainability standards. The role includes preparing and maintaining the service area, taking and processing orders and payments, communicating guest dietary needs to the kitchen, preparing food and beverages when necessary, and supporting other food-and-beverage functions during staffing shortages or peak periods. The server also handles cashiering and end-of-shift reconciliation, cleans equipment and work areas, complies with alcohol-service and workplace-safety requirements, and helps ensure overall guest satisfaction. Work schedules vary and may include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.

Requirements

Previous food-and-beverage experience or equivalent training is required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, push, lift up to 25 pounds, bend, and reach.
Availability for a varying work schedule that may include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.

Responsibilities

Set up necessary supplies, food, and beverages at the beginning of the shift and keep the work area stocked.
Take customer orders, enter them, collect payment, and provide change.
Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
Prepare food, coffee, and other beverages, including alcoholic beverages, when necessary.
Prepare cooking ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing food when necessary.
Perform other food-and-beverage duties, such as bartending and bussing, during staffing shortages or peak periods.
Count the bank at the end of the shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, submit receipts, and secure the bank according to established policies.
Clean equipment and work areas and lock equipment doors as applicable.
Follow state, federal, and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
