About The Position

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Birthday Party Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality programs, customer service, and participant engagement. The specialist maintains high personal standards and carries out the mission of the Greater Midland Community Center.

The role involves planning and delivering results-based parties, working professionally with participants, parents, staff, and volunteers, and ensuring facilities, equipment, and supplies are ready and secured for each event. Character development—caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility—should be present in all events and parties. The specialist also completes supervisor requests in a timely manner to support department and center goals and demonstrates leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values.

The office is located in the Greater Midland Community Center. The position involves regular communication and contact with vendors, employees, and members, along with keyboard work and sitting at a computer workstation, and bending and stooping for filing and maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18.
• Excellent people skills and ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred.
• One year of event planning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality, results-based parties through proper planning.
• Work cooperatively and professionally with party participants, parents, Greater Midland staff, and volunteers.
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are secured for each event or party.
• Ensure character development—caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility—is present in all events and parties.
• Complete supervisor requests in a timely manner to support department and center goals and objectives.
• Consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values.
