About The Position

Farther is a rapidly growing registered investment adviser (RIA) combining expert advisors with technology to provide tailored wealth management. The billing team develops and executes billing processes for advisory services. The Billing Associate ensures timely and accurate monthly and quarterly billing cycles while improving billing operations. The role works with advisors, internal stakeholders, and custodial firms to deliver accurate billing and a strong client experience.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in financial services billing or a related role, or equivalent experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets using Excel or similar tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex billing concepts clearly.
Self-starter mentality and a proven record of process improvement initiatives.
Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced Excel skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong teamwork skills, professional demeanor, and client-service orientation.

Nice To Haves

Experience with major custodians such as Charles Schwab, Fidelity, or Pershing.
Understanding of wealth management operations and client service workflows.
Knowledge of financial industry compliance requirements and billing regulations.
Background in process automation and system optimization.
Previous experience in a high-growth fintech environment.

Responsibilities

Execute billing cycles end to end, including custodian uploads, fee analysis, and adjustment processing.
Build relationships with advisors and provide proactive support and clear communication about billing.
Analyze complex billing scenarios and develop solutions for unique client situations.
Improve operational efficiency through process improvements and automation recommendations.
Partner with custodial firms to resolve account-related challenges and support seamless billing operations.
Monitor billing accuracy and completeness, proactively identifying and addressing discrepancies.
Contribute to projects that scale billing capabilities and enhance the client experience.
Maintain detailed documentation of billing procedures and best practices.
