About The Position

PRACTICE is hiring bilingual Spanish/English tutors to provide in-person English Language Arts support to students in Grades 3–5. This entry-level opportunity is suitable for college students, recent graduates, or others interested in gaining experience in education. Previous tutoring experience is not required. Tutors help students strengthen reading, writing, and comprehension abilities while developing practical classroom and instructional skills. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Compensation is $27–$30 per hour, with an opportunity to earn a completion bonus of up to 10% of total program earnings, subject to eligibility requirements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to explain academic concepts in both languages.
• Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Interest in working with elementary school students and supporting their academic development.
• Availability every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday during school hours.
• Dependability, professionalism, and commitment to the program schedule.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and collaborate with educators.

Nice To Haves

• Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth-development experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group English Language Arts tutoring to students in Grades 3–5.
• Help students strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills.
• Use Spanish and English to explain academic concepts and support multilingual learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce lessons and address individual learning needs.
• Create an encouraging environment that promotes student confidence, participation, and academic growth.
• Maintain consistent attendance, professionalism, and communication throughout the program.
