About The Position

PRACTICE is seeking a motivated, dependable Elementary ELA Tutor to provide in-person English Language Arts tutoring to scholars in Grades K–5, focusing on reading and writing. This entry-level opportunity is suited to college students, recent graduates, or others interested in gaining experience in education. Tutors work alongside classroom teachers to provide individualized academic support and foster a positive, encouraging learning environment.

The position pays $25–$27 per hour. It offers consistent, part-time weekday hours during school hours, with availability required for at least three weekdays per week. Tutors may also be eligible to earn a completion bonus of up to 10% of total program earnings upon successful program completion, subject to eligibility requirements. The role provides practical classroom experience and opportunities to develop communication, tutoring, and instructional-support skills.

Requirements

• Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Interest in working with elementary school scholars and supporting their academic development.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group reading and writing tutoring to scholars in Grades K–5.
• Support foundational literacy skills, including phonics, vocabulary, reading fluency, and comprehension, as appropriate to each grade level.
• Help scholars strengthen sentence formation, grammar, and written expression.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce lessons and address individual learning needs.
• Create an encouraging and inclusive environment that promotes confidence, participation, and academic growth.
• Maintain consistent attendance, professionalism, and communication throughout the program.
