About The Position

This is an entry-level sales position supporting the do-it-yourself (DIY) business and helping achieve sales and service objectives. The Salesperson should have good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive systems and parts, and the ability to source products from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. The position requires in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. It may be part-time or full-time; fleet safety certification is preferred. The role provides a positive sales and service experience to DIY customers in person and by phone, supports individual and store sales goals, performs basic DIY services, maintains store and operational standards, and assists with inventory, stocking, and deliveries. The work is usually indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks and exposure to various workplace conditions.

Requirements

Have 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
Speak and write English and communicate effectively to build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
Use basic math accurately, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Have basic driving and navigation ability.
Be able to use a delivery board system.
Have friendly communication skills.
Be able to locate and stock parts.
Have safety knowledge and skills.
Be able to operate inventory systems and store equipment.
Have parts and automotive system knowledge and skills.
Be able to operate POS and parts lookup systems.
Be proficient with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.

Responsibilities

Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customers visiting the store and calling by phone.
Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales goals.
Provide DIY services such as battery installation and testing, and wiper installation.
Maintain store product and operational standards.
Handle inventory processes, including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back stock.
Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
