About The Position

This is an entry-level sales position supporting the DIY business and helping achieve sales and service objectives. The Salesperson has good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive systems and parts, and the ability to source products from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. The role also requires in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. The position may be part-time or full-time. Fleet safety certification is preferred.

The role provides sales and customer service in person and by phone, supports store sales goals, provides DIY services such as battery installation and testing and wiper installation, and maintains product, operational, and inventory standards. Additional duties may include store cleaning, stocking, and delivering parts to customers as needed.

Requirements

• Speak and write English; Spanish is a plus.
• Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
• Use basic math accurately, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Be able to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Have 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
• Have basic driving and navigation ability.
• Be able to use a delivery board system, locate and stock parts, and operate inventory systems, store equipment, POS systems, and parts lookup systems.
• Have safety knowledge and skills, parts and automotive system knowledge, and the ability to operate testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.

Nice To Haves

• Fleet safety certification preferred.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent selling experience during DIY customer visits and phone calls.
• Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales goals.
• Provide DIY services, including battery installation and testing and wiper installation.
• Maintain store product and operational standards.
• Perform inventory processes, including truck put-away, shoot outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
• Stock merchandise, including truck stock and back stock.
• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
