About The Position

Kanner & Pintaluga is seeking a bilingual English/Spanish Paralegal. Trial Paralegals work directly with attorneys to assist with ongoing cases and prepare matters for trial when needed. They conduct fact-finding projects and maintain case files. This is a full-time position with a stated schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

At least 2 years of paralegal experience.
Experience with the discovery process.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with clients and co-workers.
Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
Ability to be cross-trained.
Bilingual English/Spanish.

Nice To Haves

Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts.
Experience reviewing medical records and bills.
Experience coordinating appearances at trial.

Responsibilities

Maintain the attorney’s calendar.
Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, mediations, and hearings.
Manage documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, and SmartAdvocate.
E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System.
Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
Draft legal court documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery demands and responses, and subpoenas.
Send correspondence to parties and non-parties by email, regular mail, or certified mail.
Communicate with clients.
Set up Court Call or Zoom for hearings.
Prepare trial notebooks and exhibit lists.
Retain experts for trial.
Attend 60-day-before-trial meetings and final trial meetings.
Complete trial logistics tasks.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
