About The Position

The Bilingual Medical Receptionist (Customer Service Specialist) is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Palm Medical Centers. The position provides in-person reception and patient support, including check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, phone service, and clerical assistance. The role is a full-time floater position serving the Tamarac and Hollywood centers as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of work experience in a medical front desk or receptionist capacity.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience with eCW is required.
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
Ability to use computers to enter information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to connect with patients and help them feel comfortable.
Patience and presence of mind.

Responsibilities

Deliver excellent patient service.
Answer telephone calls promptly, direct calls, retrieve messages, and transfer calls as necessary.
Verify patient insurance.
Retrieve correspondence from mailboxes and distribute it appropriately.
Prioritize center business needs and assist other areas as needed.
Schedule appointments, check patients in and out, and obtain accurate patient information.
Greet patients and visitors courteously and professionally.
Notify appropriate personnel when visitors arrive and direct visitors to the correct area.
Perform clerical functions.
Maintain and update the center's employee directory.
Notify the transportation dispatcher when patients are ready for pick-up.
Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
Keep waiting and reception areas clean and tidy.
Commute to other centers when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
