About The Position
EPIC Health is seeking a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking Medical Assistant to provide hands-on patient care at its on-site Chicago location. The Medical Assistant is an essential member of the care team, supporting patients and clinicians through welcoming patients, gathering and documenting health information, assisting with procedures and diagnostics, educating patients, and coordinating follow-up care. The role also contributes to team initiatives and process improvement.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, completed coursework in the field, or willingness to gain hands-on patient-care experience.
- Previous phlebotomy experience.
- Care about making a difference in community health.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Growth mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.
- Collaborative spirit and can-do attitude.
- Background check required.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to exam rooms and create a welcoming environment.
- Measure and record vital signs in the EHR.
- Document patient symptoms and medical history.
- Perform injections, vaccinations, and other treatments.
- Explain procedures to patients.
- Collect blood and urine samples.
- Schedule future appointments.
- Participate in process-improvement initiatives and support the team as needed.
