About The Position
US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant to support podiatrists and patients in a fast-paced outpatient podiatry practice. The role provides hands-on patient care and requires fluency in English and Spanish to communicate with and support the patient population. Hands-on training and ongoing clinical training are provided. The position may suit an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to develop clinical skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Fluency in spoken and understood English and Spanish.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or at least 1 year of clinical experience.
- Experience with medical terminology.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Nice To Haves
- CMA or RMA certification.
Responsibilities
- Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
- Take vital signs, update medical histories, record medications and allergies, and document in the EMR.
- Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-operative care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
- Apply dressings and DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
- Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
- Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide customer service.
- Open, prepare, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; and manage inventory and supplies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Travel between local office locations as needed.
