San Gabriel Bilingual In-Person Tutor '26/'27
About The Position
HeyTutor is hiring Spanish-bilingual ELA and Math tutors to provide academic support to students in grades 2–5 at an elementary school in San Gabriel. Tutors work in classroom and small-group settings, assisting with homework and classroom activities during music instruction and incorporating ELA and Math concepts into music-related learning. They also deliver small-group tutoring using HeyTutor’s structured curriculum and materials. The role is suited to college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals who enjoy working with children; music background or experience is strongly preferred. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM–5:00 PM, for 20 hours per week. The program runs for approximately 36 weeks during the school year. Pay is $21–$25 per hour, based on education and experience, with attendance-based pay incentives. Paid training and ongoing support are provided. An in-person Live Scan background check and TB clearance are required.
Requirements
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Completed Associate’s degree or higher, or currently enrolled in college.
- Comfortable tutoring elementary-school ELA and Math for grades 2–5.
- Able to support small groups of approximately 3–7 students.
- Comfortable working in classroom and after-school settings.
- Able to collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff.
- Able to pass an FBI-DOJ Live Scan background check.
- TB clearance required.

Responsibilities
- Provide ELA and Math academic support to students in grades 2–5.
- Assist students with homework and classroom activities during music instruction.
- Collaborate with the music teacher to support students’ academic needs.
- Integrate ELA and Math concepts into music-related classroom activities.
- Deliver small-group tutoring sessions using provided HeyTutor curriculum and materials.
- Support students through push-in classroom assistance and pull-out small-group instruction.
- Create an engaging, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support positive student behavior and participation.
- Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard.
- Assist with student assessments when requested.
- Escort students to and from designated areas on campus.
- Clock in and out daily using Deputy.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
