About The Position

The Bilingual Area Manager oversees the janitorial department and ensures staff perform their work effectively. The role supervises janitors, custodians, and housekeeping personnel; coordinates cleaning and sanitation duties; and helps maintain clean and sanitary offices or other establishments. In smaller organizations, the manager may also perform janitorial tasks such as taking out trash, sweeping floors, or cleaning bathrooms. Frequent travel is required.

Responsibilities

Oversee and supervise janitors, custodians, and housekeeping personnel.
Ensure the janitorial staff performs their work effectively and that facilities are clean and sanitary.
Plan staff schedules and track attendance.
Create checklists of daily cleaning duties.
Coordinate staff activities.
Train newly hired staff on their duties, responsibilities, and use of cleaning and sanitation equipment or machines.
In smaller organizations, perform janitorial tasks such as taking out trash, sweeping floors, or cleaning bathrooms.
Report broken equipment.
Purchase cleaning tools and keep supplies in stock.
