About The Position
The Brunswick School Department is seeking candidates for the BHS Girls Basketball Varsity Assistant Coach position. This role requires a strong understanding of basketball and the ability to work effectively with high school athletes. The ideal candidate will be committed to growing the sport within the community, fostering a positive experience for student-athletes, and developing sportsmanship and high standards both on and off the court. This position is part-time.
Requirements
- Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
- Exceptional knowledge of the given sport (basketball).
- Proven ability working with high school athletes.
- Must have, or have the ability to attain, MPA Coaching certifications in: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate behavior.
- Must have, or have the ability to attain, current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
Nice To Haves
- Previous coaching experience associated with the varsity level.
