About The Position

The Brunswick School Department is seeking candidates for the BHS Boys Basketball Varsity Assistant Coach position. This role requires exceptional knowledge of basketball and a proven ability to work with high school athletes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete, developing sportsmanship, setting high standards both on and off the court, and connecting with student-athletes. The position also involves growing the sport within the community. This information is for ADA compliance and is not an exhaustive list of duties.

Requirements

Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
Exceptional knowledge of basketball.
Proven ability working with high school athletes.
Interest in and ability to grow the sport in our community.
Commitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete.
Dedication to developing sportsmanship, setting high standards on and off the field, and connecting with student-athletes.
Must have, or have the ability to attain, MPA Coaching certifications in: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate behavior.
Must have, or have the ability to attain, current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
