About The Position

The Brunswick School Department is seeking candidates for a JV Coach position. This role requires exceptional knowledge of basketball and a proven ability to work with high school athletes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete, developing sportsmanship, setting high standards on and off the field, and connecting with student-athletes. The coach will also be expected to grow the sport within the community. This information is for ADA compliance and is not an exhaustive list of duties.

Requirements

• Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
• Exceptional knowledge of basketball.
• Proven ability working with high school athletes.
• Ability to attain MPA Coaching certifications in: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate behavior.
• Ability to attain current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous coaching experience associated with the JV level.
