About The Position

The Brunswick School Department is seeking candidates for a Varsity Basketball Coach position. This role requires exceptional knowledge of the sport, proven ability to work with high school athletes, and a commitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for developing sportsmanship, setting high standards both on and off the field, and connecting with student-athletes. The position also involves growing the sport within the community.

Requirements

• Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
• Exceptional knowledge of the given sport.
• Proven ability working with high school athletes.
• Ability to attain MPA Coaching certifications in: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Impicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate behavior.
• Ability to attain current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous coaching experience associated with the level (varsity, jv or first team) of this position is strongly preferred.
