About The Position

This position is for the First Coach of BHS Boys Basketball. The Brunswick School Department is committed to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete. The coach will be dedicated to developing sportsmanship, setting high standards on and off the field, and connecting with student-athletes. This role requires exceptional knowledge of basketball and proven ability working with high school athletes. The coach must demonstrate interest in and ability to grow the sport within the community. This information is for ADA compliance and is not an exhaustive list of duties.

Requirements

• Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education
• Exceptional knowledge of basketball
• Proven ability working with high school athletes
• Ability to attain MPA Coaching certifications (Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate behavior)
• Ability to attain current First Aid and CPR/AED certification

Nice To Haves

• Previous coaching experience associated with the level (varsity, jv or first team) of this position
