About The Position

The Brunswick School Department is seeking candidates for a JV Coach position for BHS Girls Basketball. This role requires exceptional knowledge of the sport and a proven ability to work with high school athletes. The coach will be responsible for fostering a positive and meaningful experience for student-athletes, developing sportsmanship, setting high standards, and connecting with athletes. The position also involves growing the sport within the community.

Requirements

• Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
• Exceptional knowledge of the given sport.
• Proven ability working with high school athletes.
• Demonstrate interest in and ability to grow the given sport in our community.
• Demonstrate commitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete in their program.
• Dedicated to developing sportsmanship, setting high standards on and off the field and connecting with their student-athletes.
• Must have, or have the ability to attain, MPA Coaching certifications in: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Impicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inapproproate behavior.
• Must have, or have the ability to attain, current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous coaching experience associated with level (varsity, jv or first team) of this position is strongly preferred.
