About The Position

Eagle Ridge Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-centered individual to serve as the JV Girls Basketball Coach. The ideal candidate will lead the development of a high-performing basketball program grounded in strong relationships, clear expectations, and a long-term vision for success. This role emphasizes building a cohesive K-12 program with intentional structures that support athlete development at every level. The position's objective is to direct, support, and fully implement the assigned High School Activity Program with an education-based philosophy of teaching and coaching. It involves instructing all participants in the fundamental skills and strategies of the activity for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. The season runs November-March with camp and clinic opportunities in other seasons.

Requirements

Previous coaching experience preferred
Strong understanding of long-term athlete development and program building
Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, systems, and skill progression across age levels
Proven ability to build a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Commitment to academic excellence and character development
Valid coaching certification and/or teaching license
Ability to pass background check requirements

Nice To Haves

Head coaching experience a plus
Experience building or leading a comprehensive youth-to-varsity program
Commitment to leadership development and character education
Ability to engage and grow participation at all levels of the program
Willingness to be actively involved in the school community

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of the girl's basketball program
Design and implement a comprehensive player development model aligned in philosophy, terminology, and skill progression
Establish and maintain program-wide standards for culture, competitiveness, effort, and accountability
Develop practice plans, game strategies, and offseason training that support long-term athlete growth
Create and support youth camps, clinics, and feeder program opportunities to build continuity
Collaborate with lower school and middle school staff/coaches to ensure alignment and consistency
Promote high expectations for student-athletes in the classroom, on the court, and in the community
Build strong relationships with players, families, staff, and the broader school community
Supervise and mentor assistant and youth coaches within the program
Ensure compliance with school, conference, and state athletic association policies
