About The Position

The Assistant Coach for JV Girls Basketball assists the head coach of the Girls Basketball program. The role involves coaching and instructing student athletes and performing other duties assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director to support the development of individual athletes and the team. The position is based at Heritage High School.

Requirements

• Experience in basketball skills and techniques is essential.
• Must have completed or complete the mandatory coaches certification class under the Virginia High School League.

Nice To Haves

• Previous coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with planning and teaching student athletes basketball rules, techniques, and skills.
• Assist with and direct individual and group practice activities as assigned by the head coach.
• Monitor student athletes during practices and competitions.
• Perform other duties assigned by the coach or Athletic Director to support the development of individuals and the team.
