About the position
As the Lead for Employer Sponsored Benefit Programs at OppFi, you will be responsible for managing and administering the company's benefit programs. Reporting to the Senior Director, Total Rewards, you will work closely with our benefits broker to provide health, wellbeing, and retirement benefits to our employees. Your role will involve overseeing the daily administration of various benefits, such as healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and disability. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations, enhance the benefits programs through employee surveys and market data, and manage vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Partner with benefits broker to provide health, wellbeing, and retirement benefits to employees
- Manage daily administration of OppFi's benefit programs, including healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), disability, and other voluntary benefits
- Liaison with third-party administrator and People Business Partners on employee leave administration
- Serve as the point person for all employee benefit questions
- Complete annual audits and compliance projects (401(k) audit, non-discrimination testing, 5500 filings, worker's comp audits, etc.)
- Maintain/oversee compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations such as HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and ERISA
- Enhance and support annual open enrollment administration, testing, communications, and reporting
- Help develop and enhance OppFi's benefits programs through employee surveys, market data review, and contract renewal/negotiation activities
- Manage and develop vendor relationships
- Partner with HRIS team to conduct testing and review vendor data integrations with HRIS system (UKG)
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations including HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and ERISA
- Proficiency in MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, error reconciliation techniques)
- Experience with Ultipro/UKG is a plus
- CEBS or CBP is a plus
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with benefits program administration and design work
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations including HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and ERISA
- Proficiency in MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, error reconciliation techniques)
- Experience with Ultipro/UKG is a plus
- CEBS or CBP certification is a plus
