About The Position

STS Aerospace in Laconia, New Hampshire, is seeking a Bend Trainee to fabricate, shape, bend, and assemble metal products for aircraft applications. The role involves working with engineering on layouts, operating fabrication equipment, preparing and checking bent tubes and parts, and verifying that workpieces meet specifications. Requirements

One year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to perform basic mathematical equations to calculate ovality and arc lengths.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regularly standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, reaching, and communicating; frequently lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Work with engineering to develop layouts and sequence of operations.
Work with engineering to design and construct templates and fixtures.
Locate and mark bending and cutting lines onto workpieces.
Set up and operate fabrication machines, including benders, grinders, saws, cutters, presses, and a collet swager.
Cut, deburr, and size bent tubes, using fixtures or mylars as needed to verify conformity.
Position, align, and fit parts together.
Verify that workpieces conform to specifications.
Maintain consistent, regular, and predictable attendance and punctuality.
Perform basic mathematical equations to calculate ovality and arc lengths.
Perform other duties as assigned.
