About The Position

Rings bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations in Bryan College Station. The Bell Ringer ensures the kettle is never left unattended and greets the public courteously and in a friendly manner. All duties and communications must be conducted professionally and in accordance with The Salvation Army’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, protocol, and Christian principles.

Work is performed outdoors, where employees may experience changing weather, noise, dust, and dirt. Appropriate dress is important for comfort. The position involves standing in one location for extended periods, with breaks and lunch periods as required by state law. Duties are primarily performed standing, with brief or occasional periods of sitting or walking, and require limited lifting or carrying of light objects weighing less than 25 pounds for 5–10% of work time.

Requirements

• Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.
• Ability to greet and respond to the general public courteously.
• Ability to abide by the required dress code.
• Ability to ring a small hand bell and be responsible for the bell and apron.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to stand in one location for extended periods outdoors, with breaks and lunch periods as required by state law.
• Ability to lift and carry light objects weighing less than 25 pounds.
• No formal education or experience requirements.
• No licenses or certifications required.
