About The Position
The Bell Ringer is a seasonal position supporting the Kittanning community during the 2025 Christmas season, from November through Christmas Eve. The role raises funds for people in need by staffing a Salvation Army donation kettle outside local businesses, engaging with the public, and encouraging donations. Requirements
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Have a friendly, approachable personality and enthusiasm for the cause.
- Be able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Commit to upholding the organization's values and representing it positively in the community.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in customer service or volunteer work is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Stand at designated locations during scheduled shifts, ringing a bell to attract attention and encourage donations.
- Engage with passersby in a friendly and inviting manner, sharing information about the cause and its impact on the community.
- Maintain a positive demeanor during challenging weather conditions or periods of low foot traffic.
- Keep the donation kettle secure and promptly report any issues to the supervisor.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while on duty to maintain a safe environment for yourself and the public.
- Assist with setting up and taking down donation stations as needed.
