About The Position

A Bell Captain is a senior member of the hotel’s front-of-house team responsible for supervising bell staff and ensuring guests receive efficient, courteous luggage and arrival/departure services. They play a key role in creating a positive first and last impression of the hotel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada - can provide SIN documentation
  • Previous experience in hospitality (bell attendant or concierge experience preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, and objection handling skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy luggage.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work different shift Morning and Evening including working on weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure
  • Assist with luggage handling and storage
  • Escort guests to rooms and explain room features
  • Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions
  • Arrange transportation (taxis, shuttle transfers coordination)
  • Supervise and schedule bell staff
  • Assign duties and monitor performance
  • Train new bell attendants
  • Ensure staff grooming and uniform standards are maintained
  • Maintain records of luggage movement
  • Prepare staff schedules
  • Report maintenance issues in lobby areas
  • Assist with VIP guest arrangements
  • Coordinate group arrivals and departures
  • Maintain luggage storage area and tagging system
  • Handle guest requests promptly
  • Manage lost-and-found items according to hotel policy
