About The Position

Compassion Behavioral Health is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for its PHP program in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The role supports adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorders by helping maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment overnight. The technician works collaboratively with fellow BHTs, therapists, and other clinical staff to support patient care and recovery.

The available shift is 12:00 AM–8:30 AM. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record. Previous experience working with people facing mental health or substance use challenges is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise patients to support their safety, well-being, and adherence to facility guidelines.
• Accurately and promptly document patient behaviors, observations, and significant incidents.
• Build positive, professional relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries.
• Support implementation of individualized treatment plans established by the clinical team.
• Use effective communication, active listening, and de-escalation techniques when responding to challenging situations.
• Collaborate with fellow BHTs, therapists, and other clinical staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Encourage a positive and respectful environment that supports patient recovery.
• Follow organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Assist department leadership with daily responsibilities and operational needs.
