About The Position

Tampa General Behavioral Health Hospital, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Tampa General Hospital, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support patients throughout their behavioral health treatment journey. The role provides direct patient care under the direction of the clinical treatment team and contributes to a safe, therapeutic environment focused on healing and recovery.

This is a full-time night position working three 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends. The hospital is a 96-bed behavioral health facility serving the Tampa community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• De-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting preferred.
• Experience working with psychiatric, dual-diagnosis, chemical dependency, or geriatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support under the direction of the clinical treatment team.
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
• Conduct and support psychoeducational groups, life-skills training, and recreational activities.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment through continuous patient observation and monitoring.
• Document patient behaviors and report significant changes to nursing staff.
• Support patients with daily routine activities and treatment participation.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
