About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician at its Lake Ariel residential facility, which provides drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. The facility offers round-the-clock supervision and care in a setting designed to support clients’ recovery. BHTs help maintain a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental environment alongside therapists, clinicians, nurse practitioners, and addiction counselors.

The role manages daily residential operations, supports and trains the BHT team, and oversees client engagement and morale. The BHT helps ensure that clients and staff follow Avenues’ rules, policies, and procedures, and escalates concerns or crises to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician.

Requirements

• One year of experience in the recovery field.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, empathetic personality and the ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character that models recovery principles.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily residential operations, including intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, and medications.
• Train and support the BHT team in operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate concerns or crises to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale and maintain a warm, positive recovery environment.
• Ensure clients and BHTs comply with Avenues rules, policies, and procedures.
