About The Position

MIND 24-7 provides walk-in, 24/7 access to mental health services for youth and adults through its Express Care, Crisis Care, and Outpatient Progressions programs. Its care model supports people experiencing crises, urgent care needs, and short-term medication stabilization in high-acuity settings. The Behavioral Health Technician supports patients receiving crisis stabilization and psychiatric care. As a frequent first point of interaction, the technician helps maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment and works directly with nursing and clinical teams. This is an on-site role in Mesa, Arizona, with a night schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain one upon hire.
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and effective in high-pressure situations.
Basic understanding of psychiatric emergencies, de-escalation, and trauma-informed care.

Nice To Haves

1–3 years of experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain patient safety and engagement during stabilization.
Conduct patient security screenings and inventory personal property upon admission.
Respond to escalated behavior using therapeutic de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, administer restraint or seclusion interventions.
Assist with activities of daily living, including toileting, dressing, hygiene, and eating.
Collect and document vital signs, blood alcohol levels, urine drug screens, and pregnancy tests.
Record interactions, observations, and Q30 safety checks in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Support facility operations by maintaining a clean and organized environment, laundering patient clothing, and assisting with linens.
Float between units as needed and participate in required supervision and ongoing training.
Perform other duties as assigned to support patients and clinical teams.
